Five Things You Can’t Miss in Vegas
For those looking for a fun, activity packed trip, Las Vegas is one of the most perfect destinations. Whether you’re looking to have some fun at a world-famous casino, see all the sights of the strip or venture out into the surrounding areas of Nevada and beyond, there are so many things to see and do in Las Vegas that are sure to keep everybody happy. Whether you’re travelling on your own, as a couple or as part of a group, here are just some of the things that you can’t afford to miss when you visit Vegas.
Hershey’s Flagship Store
Who doesn’t love chocolate? Chocolate fanatics will truly be in heaven when they visit Hershey’s Chocolate World, a flagship brand store which is the largest in the world and located at the New York New York casino and hotel on the Las Vegas strip. The store belonging to this famous American icon in chocolate features an awesome sculpture of the Statue of Liberty that’s made entirely from chocolate – almost 800lbs in total! When you visit the store, there are plenty of great things that you can purchase, whether it’s chocolate bars that you’ve customized yourself, stunningly tasty Hershey’s gifts, exclusive products that you won’t be able to find elsewhere, or just some of your favorite Hershey’s classics.
Visit the Casinos
A trip to Las Vegas would definitely not be complete without a visit to the world-famous, themed casinos. Whether it’s the faux skyline of the renowned New York New York casino or The Paris, which features its own Eiffel Tower, these amazing casinos will make you feel like you are taking a trip around the world! The Luxor features an ancient Egyptian theme, whilst Caesar’s Palace is designed to look and feel like you’ve just stepped into classic Rome. The Imperial Palace is Las Vegas’ own play on Imperial Japan, and the awesome Venetian is based on the stunning Italian city of Venice and one of the most-visited and well-renowned casinos there – you can even take a gondola ride on real canals that are built throughout the ground floor and mall.
The Bellagio Fountain and Gardens
Even though there are some amazing things to see and do at every Las Vegas resort, the botanical gardens and water show at The Bellagio are definitely not to be missed. The manmade lake spans eight acres, and features a stunning dancing water fountain show which is perfectly choreographed to music. This show is different every fifteen minutes, so you can spend hours watching the amazing movements of the water! In the lobby, the gardens are decorated exquisitely, and maintained to correspond with each season. They contain some of the most unique plants and flowers in the world which are definitely worth seeing. If you’re visiting at Christmas, seeing these gardens decorated with a Christmas theme is an absolute must!
The Stratosphere Adventure Rides
The Stratosphere is the hotel and casino which towers high above you at the north end of the Strip. Famous for the view of the strip, the Stratosphere is also well-renowned for its selection of hair-raising rides. By far the tallest building in Vegas, don’t take a ride at the Stratosphere if you’re afraid of heights! It is home to the Big Shot, the tallest ride in the world which shoots your seat straight up to the top of the tower and beyond. Or, for those feeling even more gutsy, you can jump off the top of the building to the bottom, via controlled cables.
The Mob Museum
Did you know that part of the reason that Las Vegas is the way it is today is due to organized crime? The mob used to use casinos to launder their money, and the involvement of organized crime played a huge part in creating the Vegas that we currently know and love. Although supposedly, organized crime doesn’t play a part in the casinos in Las Vegas today, a fascinating history still remains. The Mob Museum doesn’t just explore the history of criminals in Vegas, but also other characters from around the country that made it possible. However, this museum may not be for the faint-hearted, with a range of creepy things to do and see such as the bloody walls left from massacres, real crime scene photos, and the option to hold a tommy gun.
Las Vegas is packed full of awesome and unique things to do that you won’t find anywhere else! What are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments.
